COWON Releases Full HD PMP, ‘COWON V5W’ |

July 8th, 2010, Seoul – COWON System (CEO Nam-Gyu Park, www.cowon.com) announced the upcoming release of the Full HD portable multimedia player (PMP) ‘COWON V5W’ on the 12th of July, with Full HD video playback and Wi-Fi capabilities.
A true HD PMP, the all-new ‘COWON V5W’ from Cowon supports the highest resolution codec currently available and is able to playback up to 1920 x 1080p full HD videos instantly without encoding.
The large 4.8-inch LCD touch screen with high resolution (800 x 480) and 16.7 million colors brings crisp HD videos into the hands of the user. With an HDMI digital output, the user can connect the unit to the digital TV at home and watch Full HD videos comfortably on a large screen, thus demonstrating great applicability as a part of a home entertainment system.
Furthermore, with wireless internet capability, ‘COWON V5W’ allows the user to enjoy the internet wherever a Wi-Fi network is available. Now, users can view a variety of user created contents such as YouTube videos, surf the web, search for news articles, and blog in the convenience of a full-scale web browsing on a 4.8-inch screen.
The unique advantage of ‘COWON V5W’ is in the first time ever dual browser support on a PMP. With the official support of the world-renowned Opera browser and the high-speed-boasting uZard web, users can select a browser to suit their preference and enjoy the optimal internet experience. ‘COWON V5W’ also supports the Micon service where users can wirelessly download rich and abundant contents such as music, movies, user created contents, news, games, etc. Internet media service is the users' fingertip anywhere, anytime.
With the built-in realistic sound field JetEffect 3.0, an electronic dictionary, audiovisual language programs, a careful selection of various study contents as well as the Kyobo e-book services, 'COWON V5W’ continues its usefulness as a study aid. The ample playback time, also, is an advantage, with up to 10 hours of video playback, up to 45 hours of music, and 300 hours of stand-by time.

‘COWON V5W’ will be available in 16, 32 and up to 64 GB of storage space in consideration of high definition video storage, as well as three exterior colors – Ceramic White / Titanium Black / Royal Purple.
