Subject Supplies Wireless Internet Multimedia management server to SK Telecom Date 2001.08.13
COWON SYSTEMS, Inc. agreed to provides the integrated management server to SK Telecom, the country's largest mobile carrier, on Oct. 13th in order to support the service, which offers multimedia content to cellular phone users.

This server is designed to support the multimedia service through which subscribers can download or transfer streaming movie clips, audio files, news, language study materials.

It has various features. First of all, there is content-charging feature that analyzes the transmission details by interoperating with the streaming server and sets the charge and the subscriber authentication feature that controls access to certain content.

It also has eCRM feature that analyzes the users' tendency by showing various statistical data, and the system monitoring facility and the alarm feature for a smooth operation and management.
The multimedia content service for mobile phone subscribers is now set to gain momentum in terms of full-fledged commercialization as COWON supplies the integrated management server.

SK Telecom subscribers, who use the 011 mobile network, are now allowed to play multimedia files with their handsets and access the service by clicking n.TopGame/Entertainment Multimedia Menu.

From the beginning of n.Top business that is a wireless-Internet service of SK Telecom, COWON has participated in the project aimed at building a wireless-Internet server. COWON was asked to join the project because its expertise in developing various core technologies is relatively well known in the industry.

The transmission speed of the wireless Internet service is on the rise; intelligence is becoming essential part of such services. No wonder, then, that wireless Internet businesses are expected to advance rapidly.
