COWON to Release Smart PMP, 'COWON A5' |

COWON will release its first Android-based portable multimedia player (PMP).
COWON Systems (CEO Nam-Kyu Park, www.cowon.com) announced that it will release the smart PMP, 'COWON A5' ('A5') on the 29th.
Equipped with powerful multimedia performance unique to PMPs, 'A5' exhibits maximized study application with the Android operating system.
First, users can easily view Full HD video on the 4.8' screen without the video conversion process. 'A5' also comes with a variety of playback functions for study purposes, such as section playback, playback speed and pitch adjustment.
In particular, 'A5' boasts its strength in its capacity to handle a variety of apps with the ultra-high speed 1 Ghz processor and the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system.
'A5' comes already equipped with 'KakaoTalk', 'COWON T-Message', and 'Olleh Market', not to mention the capacity to browse the web and email over wireless internet.
'A5' supports most internet lecture contents, and comes loaded with fine study contents and apps such as the Doosan Dong-A Prime Eng/Kor Kor/Eng dictionary, Doosan Dong-A Prime Korean Dictionary, 'Kyobo eBook', English study app 'WordUp', etc.
With the all-new high-quality, realistic sound field, 'JetEffect 5', 'A5' makes listening to music more enjoyable. It is also equipped with additional features such as HDMI output, Bluetooth, and radio.
The simple, curved exterior in white is eye-catching. The design, inspired by pure-white porcelain pots, has won the '2012 iF Design Award'.
''A5' combines the multimedia horsepower of previous PMPs and the strengths of 'smart' devices,' said COWON's CEO, Nam-Kyu Park. 'This product will provide a variety of options for our customers depending on their purpose and application.'
With the upcoming release of 'A5', COWON plans to hold a celebratory event on their website (www.cowon.com). In this event, there will be quizzes regarding the new product. The participants who answer the questions correctly will be entered into a draw for prizes such as 'A5', MP3 players, and Sound Capsule.
Depending on the storage capacity, the price will range from 299,000 won to 399,000 won. |
