Subject COWON Introduces the World's First 0.85' HDD MP3P at CES Date 2006.01.03
January 3, 2006, Seoul – COWON SYSTEMS (CEO: Park Nam Gyu, www.cowon.com) announced they will showcase seven products in CES (Consumer Electronics Show), 2006 to be held in the Las Vegas Convention Center from January 5. The seven models include two HDD-type MP3 player models, including the world's first 0.85-inch compact MP3 player, four flash memory-type MP3 player models, and 'COWON A2', the next-generation wide PMP, which has gained huge popularity in domestic and international markets.

In particular, iAUDIO 6 is expected to set a new standard for the future in compact, high capacity MP3 players with the world's first 0.85-inch compact hard disk, offering 4GB large storage capacity in its compact body comparable to existing flash-type MP3 players. With its 1.3-inch, 260,000 pixel color OLED that delivers consistent and clear color images from any viewing angle, iAUDIO 6 supports the 'Swing Touch' feature for ultimate operational convenience - users have only to touch the OLED to change menus. Furthermore, iAUDIO 6 users can enjoy various overseas music services such as Yahoo and Napster through MS DRM10, a recent topic in the market.

Other showcase models include 'iAUDIO X5', the only Korean product and one of the top 100 IT products in the MP3 category chosen by CNET last December; 'iAUDIO U3', COWON's bestselling compact color MP3 player, and COWON A2, the next generation wide PMP that won the world-renowned iF Product Design Award in Germany last year. In particular, the company expects COWON A2 will be recognized as COWON's flagship model in the next-generation of multimedia products after the showcase.

CEO Park Nam Gyu said, 'This exhibition will provide us with a new position to challenge the market with the next generation of multimedia products as well as some of the world's first products in their categories. We will use this opportunity to raise our value in the global market by actively promoting COWON and establishing new partnerships.'

In January, COWON releases the DMB module which allows viewing of terrestrial TV broadcasts when connected to a COWON A2, as well as the 0.85-inch HDD-type MP3 player, iAUDIO 6, one of the showcase models.
