Subject COWON Releases 'iAUDIO 6', the World's First 0.85-inch HDD-type MP3 Player Date 2006.01.27
COWON SYSTEMS (CEO Park Nam-Gyu, www.cowon.com) announced the release of 'iAUDIO 6' MP3 player, featuring the world's first and smallest 0.85-inch ultra-mini HDD and color display.

The new iAUDIO 6 premieres the world's first 0.85 inch super-mini HDD to provide 4GB of storage in a super-compact package that is as small as a compact flash memory MP3 player, setting a new standard for the future of compact and large capacity MP3 players.

Designed with a silver framed black body that accentuates its stylish looks, iAUDIO 6 offers 1.3 inch 260,000 pixel color OLED display for vivid and clear images from any viewing angle. Further, its swing touch (touch pad) buttons provided the ultimate in user-friendly and intuitive operation and allow users to quickly switch menus.

iAUDIO supports WMA, OGG, ASF, WAV and FLAC (a lossless compression codec) in addition to MP3, allowing users to enjoy a wide range of digital audio. When used with the integrated software supplied with the product, JetAudio VX, users can also easily convert and enjoy videos such as XviD and MPEG-4.

The built-in lithium polymer battery can be fully charged in just 3 hours through a USB port or adapter to provide up to 20 hours of playback. Other advanced features include USB Host (OTG) functionality for sending and viewing pictures from digital cameras, a digital clock with alarm and snooze, scheduled FM radio recording, voice recording, direct encoding for synchronizing CD or cassette player audio to iAUDIO, and a text and image file viewer. The user-friendly UI allows users to read and browse text all while listening to their favorite music.

iAUDIO 6 was introduced at CES in Las Vegas in early January and attracted a lot of interest from buyers. Boasting a wider range of advanced features combined with an excellent price point compared to flash memory products with the same capacity, iAUDIO is positioned in the global market to compete with the iPod.
