COWON SYSTEMS (CEO Namkyu Park, www.cowon.com) has announced that its wide-type PMP 'COWON A2' was selected as the best product by Japan's prestigious IT magazine 'Ascii' (www.ascii24.com) and largest US IT blog site
(www.engadget.com).

The evaluation committee at Ascii, a highly popular Japanese IT magazine with a weekly circulation of 800,000, said, 'COWON A2 is above all other products in play time, resolution, storage capacity, USB transmission speed, and other functions in the moving pictures playing device section.'

Particularly its evaluation, COWON A2 was recognized for excellence through a direct comparison with its peer products, the Apple iPod and Sony PSP, and it offers a bright outlook for a higher brand image and solid market share growth in the Japanese market.

Meanwhile, COWON A2 was also nominated as the best portable video device of 2005 chosen by bloggers at the 2005 Engadget Awards organized by the largest US IT blog site, Engadget.

COWON A2 has consistently exceeded Apple in being chosen as the best product by IT experts from Europe's T3, Japan's Ascii, and the US blog site, Engadget, and is positioning itself solidly with its product image as a global brand.

COWON Sales and Marketing director Kiwoong Lee said, 'We expect the global PMP and video playing device market to grow further this year', and that, 'COWON A2 become a key export product as it is highly appraised the world over.'
