Subject COWON Concludes PMP Supply Contract with Korea Cyber University Date 2006.03.02
COWON SYSTEMS (CEO: Park Nam-Gyu, www.cowon.com) announced that they concluded an agreement to supply their PMP 'COWON A2' to the Korea Cyber University (President: Song Ja, www.kcu.ac.kr), the largest online university in Korea.

This agreement followed the decision of the Korea Cyber University to offer a video lecturing device to every new and transferred student in 2006. The school selected the COWON A2 after competitive bidding from domestic PMP suppliers.

The main evaluation categories in bidding were technical stability, convenient operation, customer service systems, and price competitiveness. COWON A2 has already been recognized as the best product in advanced markets such as Europe, Japan and the USA where it received the highest marks in all categories.

With the order standing at 2,000 units, this contract appears to have a great impact for the expansion of the PMP market in the future. After providing the Mega Study contents service to students preparing for the college entrance exam last year, Cowon can now firmly establish its image as the leader in the educational PMP market through this large supply of PMPs to the Korea Cyber University.

Lee Gi-Ung, COWON's executive director of sales and marketing, said, 'As the PMP market grows, the use of PMP as an educational device is increasing. We expect that our competitive edge will continue as our products have high stability and we have a nationwide customer service system.'
