COWON Launches Online Community Service in Indonesia |

COWON SYSTEMS (CEO, Park Namkyu, www.cowon.com) announced that Cowon Indonesia (CEO, Lee Seongdeuk), a local subsidiary owned 100% by Cowon Systems, signed a supply and operation agreement with its local partner Namu Solutions Indonesia (CEO Kim Heeyoung) and Telcom, a government-operated telecommunications service provider, for their online community business (official name: PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia, CEO: Arwin Rasyid).
Telcom is Indonesia's state-operated telecommunications provider and number one in sales and asset volume as well as number one in wireless communications business with over 36 million subscribers.
COWON Indonesia has completed building Telcom's online community service (www.manggamuda.com) by request of Telcom. Based on this agreement, COWON will take full charge of management and operation. Hence, Cowon Indonesia will have a core role in building a long-term roadmap for activating online business and integrating wired and wireless communications in the future.
Telcom plans to automatically subscribe 5 million of their portal members using the SSO (Single Sign On: integrated authorization) method in order to activate their new online community service for convenient service provision, and to provide support through aggressive marketing including nationwide school tour promotions and simultaneous Telcom and Internet subscriptions.
Executive director Jeongkyun Kim of COWON's Internet Media Business Division said, 'We are proceeding with diverse wired/wireless businesses with Telcom based on success domestic cases of wired/wireless communications businesses.' and clarified, 'In addition to this online community project, we are promoting other projects with other telecommunications services that will have synergetic effects in all directions.'
COWON Indonesia expects total sales of 3 billion won through dividends of sales generated from corporate advertisements, sound source business, and various item sales related to this project during the first 2 base years. The contract period will be automatically extended thereafter |
